- Australian all-rounder Mitch Marsh has suffered an injury during the Pakistan tour
- His injury puts his participation in the IPL in doubt
- No official statement from the Delhi Capitals have come out yet.
Franchise Delhi Capitals may face another setback, after one of Australia’s all-rounder Mitch Marsh, inducted into the team for IPL 2022 has suffered an injury in Pakistan. Marsh was bought by the Capitals for INR 6.5 crore this season. He suffered the injury while practicing in Lahore Pakistan for the ODI series which is due to start tomorrow. He was ruled out from the white ball series which has also put his availability in the Indian league in doubt.
His ouster would be a major blow for team Delhi. The franchise is playing seven foreign players out of which only two were available for their opening game against Mumbai Indians yesterday due to injuries and other unavailability reasons. The all-rounder along with David Warner was to reach India after 6th April, a date that marks the end of the Australia tour of Pakistan.
Fast bowlers from Bangladesh and South Africa, Mustafizur Rehman and Lungi Ngidi were in isolation due to them landing late owing to the ODI series between the Proteas and the Bangla Tigers. On the other hand, bowler Anrich Nortje despite being in India is benched due to him still tending to his injuries.
First Nortje and now, Mitch Marsh. Injury list gets longer. Only 7 overseas players on the roster anyway. #DelhiCapitals will be forced to revisit their auction strategy with some regret. Yes…they won yesterday. But it is a long tournament. #IPL2022

But bruises and injuries did not keep the Delhi Capitals from bagging their first win of the tournament, from four wickets, against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians. Regarding Mitch Marsh, the franchise is yet to make an official statement.
