The spectators began screaming AB de Villiers’ name, who had retired from the IPL before the current season. “ABD, ABD…,’ the supporters continued to shout. Kohli, who was fielding at slip, imitated De Villier’s famous switch shot in response to the shouts.

Kohli’s reaction excited the crowd, and a video of the incident was shared on social media by one of the onlookers. De Villiers is widely considered as one of cricket’s most destructive batters, and his retirement brought an end to the cricket era for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both cricket legends have been spotted praising each other on various public occasions.

Kohli has been a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise since the beginning of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.

Furthermore, RCB named Faf du Plessis as their new captain and unveiled their new IPL 2022 shirt on Saturday. Faf replaces Virat Kohli, who stepped down as RCB captain last year and will be looking to capture the franchise’s first trophy. He has appeared in 100 IPL matches, accumulating 2935 runs and a top score of 96.
