Ind vs Pak: Mithali Raj not taking Pakistan for granted

The biggest clash of the ICC ODI Women’s World Cup 2022, Pakistan vs India, is all set to be staged at New Zealand’s Bay Oval on 6th March as the cricket world anticipates witnessing the rivalry. Ind vs Pak has always been the center of attraction no matter what the cricket event is. All the broadcasting records, the number of tickets sold in the lowest time possible, and other quick feats remain unmatched every new time in comparison to the old stats of the clash. Let it be men cricket or women, the hype has always been the same.

It must be noted that the women in green are yet to win versus the women in blue in an ODI match. It will be Pakistani women’s first-ever win versus India in the history of the ODI World Cup in case they succeed in the battleground. Before the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021, the record stayed alive for decades since Pakistan were yet to win a World Cup match (ODI or T20) versus India. However, the deadly showcase, breaking the years-old record, the men in green stuck to in the WC21 still haunts the Indian cricket world.

Undeniably, the unpredictability of the Pakistan Cricket Team is why Mithali Raj has said not to take the girls in the green light. She says like all other teams, Bismah Maroof and co are in the competition to compete with good practice done. For Mithali, Ind vs Pak will be like every other contest rather than being under pressure due to social media hype. After the men’s cricket team is down and dusted with their task of breaking the losing streak versus India in the World Cup, Pakistan women’s cricket team is on the verge of doing the same.

“I think Pakistan is also a good side and I am sure they have prepared very hard for the tournament and so have we. Every team here, we can’t take any team lightly. So we will get into playing every game with a lot of intensity and with a lot of confidence,”.

“As a team, we are excited to get into the World Cup and start our campaign tomorrow. We are not looking at it as Pakistan we are playing against, we are looking at a team, which has come prepared and we are equally prepared to put our best foot forward, ”

India and Pakistan to compete in World Cup 2022 for their first trophy

Both India and Pakistan will begin their WWC22 campaign versus each other tomorrow. The sides have been outclassed in the warm-up matches. India, on the one hand, defeated the West Indies and South Africa, whereas, Pakistan thrashed away Bangladesh and New Zealand. They will be looking to retain the momentum to reach the semifinal and clinch their first-ever ODI World Cup trophy. It must be noted the girls in green have never reached the event’s semifinal, whereas, India ended as the runner-ups in 2005 and 2017 seasons.
