In a groundbreaking development for cricket enthusiasts, the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium has been unveiled in Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, New York. This cutting-edge modular facility boasts a 34,000-seat capacity and will host eight matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Situated just 30 miles east of Manhattan, the construction of the stadium commenced this week and is projected to be completed within a swift three-month timeframe. The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium promises to elevate the fan experience with premium and general admission seating, VIP areas, hospitality suites, a party deck, and cabanas.
Designed by the renowned sports architecture firm Populous, responsible for iconic venues like Yankee Stadium and Narendra Modi Stadium, the stadium is strategically located for easy access, being close to New York City. Arena Event Services and The Parker Company, with their extensive experience in global sports event management, will oversee infrastructure installation and project management.
Sustainability takes center stage in the project, with repurposed grandstands from the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix forming part of the venue. Work on infrastructure, utilizing these repurposed materials, is set to commence in February.
The outfield, managed by The LandTek Group, known for their work with the New York Yankees and New York Mets, adds another layer of expertise to the project. The drop-in square wicket, curated in Florida and transported to New York in May, follows the tradition of renowned grounds like Adelaide Oval and Eden Park.
