Jos Butler criticizes Dharamsala outfield conditions call it “poor”

The outfield conditions at Dharamsala during the Afghanistan vs. Bangladesh match have raised significant concerns. The state of the field appeared far from suitable for hosting an official game, posing a substantial threat to the players’ safety and the integrity of the match.

Jonathan Trott, the coach of the Afghanistan team, expressed gratitude that Mujib narrowly avoided a severe injury while diving to save a boundary, his knee digging into the treacherous surface. Trott went further to caution England players about the precarious field conditions in Dharamsala.

The defending champions, England, are set to face Bangladesh in Dharamsala. Captain Jos Butler, in an interview with BBC, voiced his apprehension about the field conditions. He described them as poor and stressed the importance of not allowing these conditions to hinder players from making crucial dives to save runs, a fundamental aspect of the game that contributes to winning.

Additionally, Butler acknowledged that the playing surface was less than ideal but assured that his team would not use it as an excuse. They are committed to adapting to the challenging conditions and giving their best performance on the field.
