Inzamam ul Haq draws comparison between 1992 World Cup and 2022 World Cup

Former Pakistani cricketer Inzamam ul Haq has drawn a comparison in the scenarios for Pakistan between the ICC World Cup 1992 and the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

Since Pakistan won the last three games in the Group stage back then, similar has happened in the ongoing marquee event as Babar Azam and co have managed to win against the Netherlands, South Africa, and Bangladesh, respectively.

Also, Australia were kicked out of the tournament, and similar has happened during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Inzamam believes the men in green will manage to thumb up in the final of the event, probably facing England.

He also understands that the team will do better in the semifinal. While talking on his YouTube channel, Inzamam narrated,

“Pakistan’s performance in the semifinals and final will be better than the Super 12 Stage round”,

“This time in Australia, Pakistan climbed from bottom to top. Even during the 1992 World Cup, Pakistan did the same and climbed from bottom to top.”

It must be noted that the men in green did not have a good start to their journey as they lost two consecutive games to India and Zimbabwe, both on a last-ball thriller.

They are now scheduled to meet New Zealand in the first semifinal of the event on 9th November at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
