Pak vs NED: Will Haider Ali be appropriate choice for do-or-die clash?

Pak vs NED: Pakistan are all set to slide in their third match of the Super 12 round of ICC T20 World Cup 2022 versus the Netherlands on Sunday. Facing two back-to-back defeats in their first two games against India and Zimbabwe, respectively, they are looking to thump up to polish their chances of being in the semifinal.

However, if they continue to make some repetitive mistakes, such as playing underperforming Haider Ali in a do-or-die clash, they can again be on the verge of losing. In an all-important clash, Pakistan are likely to make a wise decision, dropping Haider and playing Asif Ali instead.

We may also see anyone from Babar Azam or Mohammad Rizwan coming one down and the other building an opening partnership with aggressive batter Fakhar Zaman. According to experts’ advice, the men in green might make crucial changes to avoid continual mistakes and to finally generate some results whilst batting.

We saw the opening has not been doing wonders this World Cup since both Rizwan and Babar failed to score runs against India and Zimbabwe, respectively. Stats show that Babar is better at opening with Fakhar and averages 52, whereas he averages 25 runs lesser while opening with Rizwan. It is because of the wicketkeeping batter’s slow approach to opening the innings and adjusting gradually.

Apart from the openers, middle-order woes tend to continue on and off. However, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz have performed on various occasions apiece. Moreover, Shan Masood is doing pretty fine one down, however, in case Zaman in added to the crew, Masood might bat two down in all-important Pak vs NED clash.

Let’s anticipate the Playing XI to witness if our predictions turn into reality.
