Pakistani duo of left-arm opener Imam ul Haq and skipper Babar Azam have always maintained friendly relations on and off the field. However, Imam has neglected to prefer his best friend over former Indian skipper Virat Kohli while choosing the best among both.
Babar or Kohli is no more a new comparison topic. The opener was asked to pick one in the ‘Rapid Fire’ segment of a game show on a local channel. Although it could have been a critical question for him to choose against his best friend, but he preferred naming Kohli as the best.
As far as the Indian batter’s current form is concerned, not only he has been struggling to come up with the 71st international century but his bat has been unable to talk over the months. The continual struggle has left him out of the 18-player squad the BCCI named on Thursday for the five-match T20I series against West Indies.
Imam further stated that Hitman Rohit Sharma’s talent does not exist in Kohli. In comparing the two key betters of India Cricket, Imam has chosen Sharma, who is now the captain in all three formats. Talking about the two batters, the Pakistani cricketer commented he has seen two of them playing but Kohli cannot compete with Sharma’s tactics.
“I feel the talent that God has given Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli probably doesn’t have. I have seen both of them play, but it really feels like a replay is going on the way Rohit Sharma plays. He has a lot of time, and I realized the true meaning of ‘time’ when I was fielding at point,”
Both the Indian batters will be seen in action together in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka.
