Waqar-Wasim duo to commentate in inaugural ILT20

Former Pakistani bowling duo of Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram left their legacy, which is still remembered for their fast bowling. No duo today has replaced the skill set offered by them back then to Pakistan Cricket. After being down and dusted with their playing career, the two are seen involved in commentary lately.

To further upgrade their commentary skills and mark their brilliance with the experience they have got so far in the field, the Waqar-Wasim duo is all set to commentate in the cash-rich UAE’s International League T20 (ILT20). The star-studded commentary panel for the maiden edition of ILT20 was named on Monday, which has a plethora of renowned commentators and presenters.

Apart from Wasim and Waqar, Ian Bishop, Simon Doull, and David Lloyd will be joined by elite former cricketers, including David Gower, Mohammad Azharuddin, Harbhajan Singh, and Niall O’Brien. According to the details, the luminous panel will bring excitement to the league on a global level for the fanatics in English, Hindi and Tamil languages.

The panel will also include some of the most popular commentators and experts in the Indian subcontinent Russel Arnold, Rohan Gavaskar, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Saba Karim, Nikhil Chopra, Vivek Razdan, WV Raman, S Sriram, and Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan.

The franchise-based tournament will feature six teams in the maiden edition, which will undergo 34 matches to be played across the UAE. The 20-over contest is all set to make its debut on January 6th. Alongside the top-rated signings, the commentators will be in action across the three UAE venues, including Zayed Cricket Stadium, Dubai International Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

One of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, Wasim, also spoke about being a part of the commentary panel,

“A new T20 league always creates excitement, and I am eagerly looking forward to being a part of it. We will have the best seat in the house as commentators and calling the game with some of the legends of the game who are also my friends will be super fun.”
