The bowling was outstanding from Trent Rockets as they took a firm grip on the game ever since the dismissal of Will Smeed. Daniel Sams was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets. Matthew Carter was superb with figures of 2 wickets for just 15 runs, while others chipped in with a wicket each. Skipper Lewis Gregory was the only one left wicketless today.

Chase began with a flourish as Will Smeed and Ben Duckett looked aggressive while the duo lasted. Tom Kohler-Cadmore inflicted a run out on Will Smeed and Ben Duckett soon followed him in the dugout. Trent Rockets were in a situation of bother but Liam Livingstone and Jamie Smith stabled the ship for a while with a partnership of 47 runs. Once the partnership was broken, wickets fell in clusters and Birmingham Phoenix went way behind in the game. Jamie Smith was the only batter that showed some sort of resistance and scored 38 runs but that was no way near enough to chase the total.

With a convincing victory by 46 runs, Trent Rockets climb up to second in the table thanks to their NRR, while Birmingham Phoenix lost the last flame of any hope for this edition.

On a good length over middle and leg, Kane Richardson backs away and gets under it before liftin g it a mile high in the air. The ball finally comes down around the wicket region where Sam Cook steams in from square leg and puts in the dive to take the catch. As Cook hits the ground though, the ball pops out a bit because of the impact. The third umpire checks it from a few different angles and deems that Cook did have control of the ball. Richardson has to walk back.
