- The ICC has announced the match schedule for Ireland and UAE for T20 World Cup 2022
- Ireland are placed in Group A whereas, Oman are placed in Group B
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the fixtures for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 for Ireland and UAE. The tournament will be held in Australia from 16th October to 13th November.
The benefitted hosts will defend their title in the home conditions against New Zealand. Notably, the eight teams will directly start their World Cup campaign in the Super 12 whereas, the eight teams, including the UAE and Ireland, are placed in groups, to battle in the group stage before qualifying for four vacant spaces in Super 12.
It has officially been revealed that two of eight; Ireland and UAE, who have qualified for the group stage, will travel to Australia in a short course. After their victories against Oman and Nepal respectively in the semi-finals of the Qualifiers, they made their places for the pool stage. The Irish team is placed in Group B while Oman are in Group A.
In the T20 World Cup, UAE will be encountering the likes of the 2014 winners Sri Lanka, and Namibia. The runner-up of Qualifier B in June will be joining them as the fourth team. Ireland, on the other hand, will be competing with the two-time winners West Indies, and Scotland. They will be joined by the winner of Qualifier B as the fourth team.
