- Hasan is now available for all formats of the series despite controversies over the last few years
- Nazmul Hasan is happy about his return
In the recent developments, there have been going a lot between the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Shakib Al Hasan. The player denied playing the New Zealand series earlier this year despite showing interest at first. Later, he sidelined himself from the ODI squad set to fly for South Africa series though he made himself available earlier. Allotting himself and denying at the end moments for consecutive times triggered the BCB to no end since they granted rest to Shakib from international cricket till 30th April. However, the cricketer has once again made the headlines bringing the twist in the story plot.
Shakib is now available to play the South Africa series despite the fact he denied his availability a few days back citing mental and personal reasons. He says only the board can decide when to rest him but he is all available for the national duty. Notably, Nazmul Hasan, the board’s presented lashed at the all-rounder saying if he would have parted ways with the IPL franchise if picked by any many mentioning mental reasons. Nazmul comprehended he would have not registered for the IPL auction if there were such reasons.
Shakib al Hasan leaves all on the board, makes himself available fully for national duties
As quoted by ESPN Cricinfo, the cricketer stated,
“I spoke to [BCB president Nazmul Hassan] Papon Bhai for the last two days when we planned the entire year. I am available for all three formats. The board will decide when to give me rest, which includes the South Africa series. I am available for the SA series,”
However, after whatever happened, Nazmul understands Shakib’s availability is what matters the most momentarily. He revealed the player will play the full series, yet, there is no uncertainty that he will not back out.
“Shakib is available for all the formats for the South Africa tour. He will travel to South Africa tomorrow. If he skips a match in this series, please accept it. He wants to play. That is the most important thing,”
Nazmul further stated the BCB is soft on those who present legit matters but do not on and off come and goes. Despite whatever happened, Hasan has been named in the all-format contract released by the BCB for the calendar year 2022. The board named the 21-player centrally contracted cricketers on Friday including Shakib’s name in it for all three formats. People are shocked to see Shakib’s name despite the difference created between the player and the board recently. However, according to BCB rules, a player, despite being given a contract, will only be paid during his unavailability if there is a serious injury.
