Man of the Match
Albie Morkel
Commentry
That is it from this game. South African Legends get their campaign off to a winning start. West Indian Legends, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the points table with back-to-back loses. The Road Safety T20 World Series action will continue on 13th March as South African Legends will take on Sri Lankan Legends. That game will begin at 1900 local (1330 GMT). Hope to see you for that game. Till then, cheers!
Jonty Rhodes, the South African Legends skipper, says it is a good way to get the tournament started. States there is a bit of carry on the wicket, a good one to bat on, the bowlers did well to pull things back and one partnership is what they needed and they got it. Mentions it was about playing Tino Best off but then once again Morkel got into his own, he hit them long. Ends by saying it was all good so far and they would have the full squad to choose from in the next game as Klusener comes in.
Albie Morkel is named the Man of the Match for his brilliant knock. He starts by saying he feels great, he never got an opportunity to bat with Jonty Rhodes and it was an amazing experience. Adds that he did not play for 15 months. Mentions that he is in a coaching role, they did have a few training sessions and he hopes they can do well in the next game too.
Brian Lara, the West Indian Legends skipper, says the batting went wrong, they did not capitalize on the start they got. Adds that 142 is not enough as the ball comes onto the bat later on and they needed to score more. Mentions their bowlers did a good job but Rhodes and Morkel played really well. Further says that Tino Best is bowling really well and they were good till the 10th over but Morkel and Rhodes played really well. Ends by saying they need to play better in the next game and win as it is a must-win game.
The Windies bowlers started off well with the new ball but their spinners disappointed in the middle overs. All three of their spinners failed to keep it tight and were taken to the cleaners by Morkel and Rhodes. A lot was expected of Badree and Benn but they could not provide the goods and that led to the downfall of the Windies. Stay tuned for the presentation...
A relatively easy win in the end for South Africa! The script of this game was almost similar to the one yesterday. Chasing a moderate total, the South Africans lost wickets early on. They struggled for the first 10 overs but then run scoring became easy. They needed to go at something around 9 per over in the last 10 and they did that quite easily. They have won the game with around 10 balls to spare. Morkel and Rhodes are the heroes. The two managed a 100-plus run stand with both scoring fifties.

We are back for the chase. The West Indian Legends players are out in the middle. Herschelle Gibbs and Morne van Wyk will open the innings for South African Legends. Adam Sanford will start the proceedings for West Indian Legends.
So 144 is the target! The Indians did struggle a little yesterday to chase down something around 140 so if the Windies bowl well, this could prove to be a challenging score. The wicket is a little sticky but the South Africans should back themselves to chase this down. Join us for the second essay in a while.
Paul Harris says that he had a lot of fun out there. Adds that he really enjoyed and it was great to take the wickets of Lara, Ganga and Chanderpaul. Mentions he likes to travel to India. Harris also says that if South Africa bat well they will be able to chase this score.
A very good bowling performance from South Africa comes to an end! They will be very satisfied with how things stand at the moment. They though started off poorly as they leaked runs initially. However, Harris' introduction changed things, he got three big wickets and also put a stop on the run-flow. Powell and Hyatt then did have a good partnership but a three-wicket over changed the momentum again. Hooper though played an handy innings to take his side to a decent total. The man for South Africa, Paul Harris is up for an interview now.
