The match is scheduled to commence at 7:30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), but you can surely join us a lot sooner for the build-up. Until then, stay safe and enjoy the cricketing action! Cheers!
Marizanne Kapp is the Player of the Match for her outstanding bowling figures of (4-1-5-3). She says that she was happy when they won the toss and elected to bowl and is very pleased with the ball. Adds that she was surprised by the first wicket as she thought it wasn't a good ball but will take the wicket any day. Adds that she hasn't been happy with her bowling in the last couple of months, so, she went back and worked on a couple of things. Adds that she was a bit nervous after that narrow loss last time around and is happy to have just got the win and ends by saying that she was feeling good and Meg Lanning also handed her the ball for that fourth over on the trot.
Meg Lanning, the winning skipper of Delhi says that it's pleasing to win the game in a dominating way. Appreciates Marizanne Kapp and says she was phenomenal tonight with the ball. Also says that Shafali Verma was brilliant with the bat. Adds it is fun to bat with her and see her hitting sixes as she is such a tremendous striker of the ball. On being asked about Radha Yadav, she says Radha has been bowling really well in the nets and tonight she executed her plans with perfection and hopes that she contributes likewise in the upcoming games.
The Presentation ceremony...
Shafali Verma is up for a quick chat for her fabulous unbeaten 64. She says that she is feeling great and she couldn't perform well last time around and is happy to have stayed on till the end here. Mentions that she wasn't able to get going last time around even though the ball was coming onto the bat well but made sure to turn things around. On Meg Lanning, she says that the skipper always backs her and is happy to learn from her and says that when just one run is required any batter would be disappointed to get out.
Alyssa Healy, the captain of UP is down for a chat. Healy says that they don't have a lot of pace options and it was a 50/50 call to go with the extra spinner and things didn't go their way. Adds that they could have done well in the Powerplay and didn't adjust well and simply didn't have enough runs on the board. Mentions that almost everyone wants to play attacking cricket, not reckless but smart cricket. Adds that you can't dwell on the losses too much but do need to reflect on it and it is all about turning up with the right attitude. Ends by saying that they have got a lot of choices in the overseas department but who do you bring them in for is hard to pick out.
Earlier tonight, UP were invited to bat first and they just couldn't find any momentum from the beginning as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Only Shweta Sehrawat looked promising with her 45 but she was finding partners on the other end. They could only post 119 on the board, courtesy of a phenomenal bowling performance by Marizanne Kapp. She conceded just 5 runs off her four overs and took three wickets, including a wicket-maiden. She was equally partnered by Radha Yadav as she totally outclassed UP and dented them further in the backend with her four-wicket haul. Into the chase, Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma churned out the total in a dominating fashion and won their first game of the season by 9 wickets in a convincing fashion.
On the other hand, UP urgently required early breakthroughs to stay in the game. Despite employing three left-arm spinners inside the Powerplay, they failed to make a significant impact. Their woes compounded with a couple of dropped catches, adding to their frustrations. Also, they bowled a fair amount of looseners which were punished rightly. UP just could not find their mojo in the game tonight. Sophie Ecclestone dismissed Meg Lanning when the scores were level but the damage was already done. UP lost their second game on the trot this season and seriously need to come back stronger with contributions from both, the batters and the bowlers.
A display of total dominance from Delhi tonight, first restricting UP to a modest run-a-ball-total with lethal bowling and then chasing it down in style with 9 wickets in hand and 33 balls to spare. In pursuit of a modest target of 120, Delhi adopted a straightforward approach and executed it effectively. Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma displayed cautiousness while capitalizing on scoring opportunities without risking their wickets. Shafali assumed the role of the aggressor, while Meg Lanning utilized her experience to stabilize the innings, scoring 57 runs during the Powerplay. They built onto the momentum and both scored valuable 50s and helped their team to open their winning account for this season.

FOUR! There it is, Delhi have their first points on the board! Flighted ball, full and around off, Jemimah Rodrigues gets inside the line and paddles it brilliantly down to fine leg for a boundary and seals the win. Delhi win by 9 wickets!
Jemimah Rodrigues is in at number 3.

OUT! CAUGHT! Would you believe it? Meg Lanning has stormed back to the dug out after holding out with just one run to win. Sophie Ecclestone drops it well short over middle, it is there to be put away and Lanning rocks back and pulls it flat to the left of square leg. Vrinda Dinesh there dives across and takes a fantastic catch with both hands and Lanning cannot believe it. Lanning departs after reaching her 50 and it won't be a 10-wicket win for Delhi.

Nicely done by Meg Lanning and shes brings up her FIFTY and the scores are now level as well. Short of a length and outside off, quick too, Lanning stays back and uses the pace on the ball to run it down to third man where the substitute fielder Soppadhandi Yashasri dives in and saves the boundary. The batters get two runs and they could have even got the third and finished the game off.

Shafali Verma with a front-foot defense to allow her captain to get to her 50 in the next over. Flighted delivery, full and on leg stump, Verma blocks it off.

SIX! BANG! This is some hitting from Shafali Verma. Tossed up full and around off, turning away as well. Verma dances down the track and gets to the pitch of the ball, negating the turn and lofts it over long on for a biggie.
