Now, the winning captain Harmanpreet Kaur heads over to pick up the trophy and her teammates join in to celebrate. Surreal scenes out in the middle and Supernovas pose for a team photograph as well. We witnessed 4 excellent games between three teams and in the end, it is Supernovas who are crowned the champions for the third time. Another final coming your way on Sunday and it is the Indian T20 League final, it is Gujarat taking on Rajasthan. That game begins at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT). The build up for that game will begin much sooner. Do join us then. Take care and goodbye!
Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of Supernovas picks up the winning check and comes down for a chat. Kaur says that she is fine now and they knew it was going to be tight but she is proud of the girls and especially the bowling effort was really great. Mentions that the first over was not in their favor but it was about taking early wickets which they did get and from there on it went well. Adds that Pooja didn't bowl the way they wanted and it happens sometimes when the pressure is high but Sophie bowled exceptionally well and got the side home. On being asked about Laura, she says that Laura is strong over covers and they had a chat about it and Sophie bowled well to her. Ends by saying that they are definitely going to celebrate and that they will and goes on to thank the coaching staff and she is very happy.
Deandra Dottin is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH  for her brilliant all round show, she did it with the bat, the ball and in the field as well. Dottin says that she enjoys the tournament and the experience is very good here. Adds that when you come to a palce like this, you gain a lot of experience and learn about different personalities as well. She adds that she is a bit shy but the team backed her all the way through which helped her perform well and she made some friends as well.
The presentation ceremony...
Alana King is down or a chat as well. King says that she is happy with the way she bowled but gives credit to the opposition as they came hard them and took it very deep. Adds that there was tension on the field and they felt a bit under pressure towards the end as well. Adds that she took in the moment and mentions that she hasn't played with such a loud crowd anywhere else. Says that she is happy to play here and see the talented Indian players as well. Ends by saying that she likes to make new friends and hopes to come back next year.
Priya Punia says that she had a good tournament and performed well domestically as well. Adds that the team has come together really well and it showed in the final as well. Mentions that it got really close in the end which was exciting and nervous at the same time but she is happy that they got the win. On being asked about Pooja Vastrakar, Punia says that her plan didn't work but is glad that everything worked out well for them.
Velocity skipper, Deepti Sharma reflects on the final. Sharma feels that they failed to build partnerships in the middle and that cost them. Adds that the batters didn't take responsibility but applauds the efforts of Laura Wolvaardt and Simran Bahadur towards the end. Mentions that with their batting lineup it was a chasable target but in the end, Laura and Simran had to throw their bat at it which they managed to do so well. Ends by saying that the team performed well and they had a good tournament on the whole. Let's now join Priya Punia and Alana King for a quick chat as well...
Earlier in the day, the top three played brilliantly for Supernovas. They looked all set for 180 but Ayabonga Khaka, Kate Cross and Deepti Sharma restricted them to 165. Supernovas’ bowlers rose to the occasion and ensured the score is defended. Stay tuned for a few interviews...
Supernovas did not start off in the best of manner but they did come out with a plan and it worked. Deandra Dottin and Sophie Ecclestone were brilliant at the start. They did the initial damage. Alana King was excellent in the middle overs and so was Rashi Kanojia. The key was holding their nerves and they did so.
Have to say Velocity did well to come this close in the end. Shefali got them off to a flier but once she fell, they kept losing wickets and runs also stopped coming. Laura was fighting a lone battle and needed someone to give her the support she needs. It came in the form of Simran. The two added runs in no time. From no where, the Velocity team started to believe, they belief got stronger when it came down to 11 from 5 but in the end, they fell short by just.
Supernovas are the CHAMPIONS! They lost in the finals last year but this time Harmanpreet Kaur will get to lift the trophy. It did get nervy in the end but is the experience of Sophie Ecclestone which helped her side get over the line. A brilliant comeback by her after going for a six on the very first ball, defending 16.

So close yet so far for Velocity but Sophie Ecclestone has done it for her team! This is a full toss on middle, Simran Bahadur steps out and looks to slog it away but completely mistimes it towards short mid-wicket. Just a single and Supernovas win by 4 runs. What a pehnomenal end to the final!

Brilliant from Sophie Ecclestone under pressure. Fires one in fuller and on middle, Wolvaardt can't get under it and only manges to get an inside edge onto the pads. The ball goes onto the off side and a quick single is taken. 6 needed off the final ball.

This is just darted into middle and leg, Wolvaardt slogs it off the inner half of the bat towards deep square leg for a couple of runs. 7 needed now off 2 balls.

Leg bye! This is quicker and fuller, angled across the left-hander. Simran Bahadur gets across the off stump and looks to slog it away but misses and gets hit on the pads. The ball rolls towards mid-wicket as the batters pick up a leg bye. Harmanpreet Kaur does review it and Ultra Edge shows no bat is involved. Ball Tracking shows that the impact is outside the line of the off stump and Simran Bahadur survives.
Harmanpreet Kaur opts for the review for an lbw decision and at this stage she just has to go for it. The third umpire checks it and deems that the ball is passing close to the bat. Ultra Edge shows a flat line as the ball passes the bat. Ball Tracking shows that the ball is pitching outside off and the impact is also outside off. NOT OUT!

Just a single, good comeback from Sophie Ecclestone. This is right in the block-hole around off. Wolvaardt squeezes it out towards point for a run.

SIX! 'Cometh the hour, cometh the champion,' is such an apt phrase for Laura Wolvaardt at the moment. Sophie Ecclestone drifts it into leg stump, Wolvaardt gets down on one knee and slogs it over the mid-wicket fence for a huge hit. 11 needed now off 5 balls and the tension just keeps on rising.
