That is it from that game. The action continues in the BBL. Join us on the 5th of this month as Adelaide Strikers will take on Perth Scorchers at 1.45 pm IST (8.15 am GMT). Do join us for the build-up. Till then, cheers!
Sam Hain is the Player of the Match for his great knock. He says that its a great win and they feel good. Adds that it means a lot to contribute to the victory. Says that he will assess his injury with the physio and it is cramps and not a hamstring injury. Ends by saying that they will keep going and give their best in their following games.
Melbourne Renegades didn't bat well. They were too cautious at the start and were struggling to time the ball. The form of Quinton de Kock is a big concern for Melbourne Renegades this year. He has done it many times but it is just not happening for the Proteas. Melbourne Renegades though did finish with a par total thanks to the knock from Jordan Cox and Jonathan Wells but the late flourish was not enough for the bowlers to defend it out. Melbourne Renegades sit second last on the table and continue to wait for their second win.
A comfortable win in the end for Hobart Hurricanes. They just needed a couple of their batters to play a long innings and it was the stand between Sam Hain and Corey Anderson that did the job. The partnership of 84-runs saw Hain score a fine fifty while Corey Anderson played the second fiddle. Once Hain fell, Corey did the finishing job for his team with ease. Earlier, Hobart Hurricanes bowled really well. They bossed the first 10 overs and even their fielding was superb. They did allow a stand to build in the second half but had Melbourne Renegades under control for a long period.
