Right then, that is it from the game. Manchester originals have won it and made it to the eliminator round. They will face the London Spirits on Friday at 11.00 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). Do join us a bit early for our build-up. Till then, it's a goodbye. Cheers!
Josh Little is the man of the match. He says that it was an amazing game and he liked it. Further says that he enjoyed every minute of the game and played his way. Adds that his plan was simply to make them hit at the long side of the ground. Applauds Madsen for performing under pressure and says he is really happy for him.
Earlier in the day, despite Sam Billings' lovely innings Oval ended up with a under par total as they kept losing wickets on regular intervals. They though fought well with the ball but Madsen's fifty overpowered Sam Billings' innings and it is the former's side which finished on top.
Oval will be disappointed with the amount of runs they leaked right at the start. The couple of sets from Sam and Peter Hatzoglou really let the pressure off completely at the start. They did pull things back in the end but just could not bag the win. Manchester Originals on the other hand, knew they needed one batter to play through after the start they got and Wayne Madsen did so and took his side into the play-offs.
Oval needed early wickets but leaked runs at the start. However, they then managed to pick up two quickly but then there was a good partnership between Wayne Madsen and Tristan Stubbs which steadied the ship. Stubbs fell but Madsen continued. he scored a fifty and played the anchor role. Turner struck a couple of meaty blows to ease the pressure. However, it came down to the last over with Manchester Originals needing 11 and Walter rose to the occasion to give his side the win.
Paul Walter, the hero for Manchester Originals and they are through to the play-offs! Jubilation scenes in the camp for them. Disappointment on the faces of Oval. They tried their best, they bowled really well to bring it to the last over but they could not keep their calm. 10 was to defend in the last over and all the onus was on Matt Milnes but he could not come out on top. However, have to blame the batting as we feel, they were 15-20 runs short.
