So, that’s it from this game! Action from the 100 does not end here as it is the Men’s team which will be in action. Do join us for that. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Hero of the match, Evelyn Jones. She says she got off to a slow start but managed to get going eventually. Also says it’s upsetting to end on the losing side. Goes onto say, her time with the skipper in the middle, helped her a lot. Goes onto say she has never played in front of such a huge crowd and it felt amazing to perform in front of this ground. Ends by saying she will be sticking around and support the Men’s side in their next game.
Birmingham bowled really well! They were 15 runs short at least but they put up a good fight. However, a few expensive overs and hardly any wickets in the middle overs was what cost them. They still showed great character to drag it towards the last set of 5 balls and that was courtesy Burns and Gordon who were terrific with the ball.
Finally, finally, it is the London Women who get over the line! In the end, it turned out to be a pretty close game but throughout the chase, London were quite dominant! After they lost Dottin early, Dattani and Knight counter-attacked. The former was in some mood as she smoked the bowlers all around the park. The two did a good job to take their side on top before Dattani fell. Sharma then came in and along with Knight strenthened their position in the game. Once Knight fell though, there were wickets at regular intervals which built the pressure. Carr along with Gibson though, ensured their side get over the vicotry line in the last 5 balls.

OUT! RUN OUT! Trouble all around for London Spirit Women. It was never an easy two but still they went for it and it did not end well. A full length ball, on off. Dean slog sweeps it to deep mid-wicket. She takes off for a single and decided to take two. The fielder throws it at the striker's end at the keeper. The keeper collects and shatters the stumps. The replays roll in and show the batter is short of the crease by a mile.
Run out appeal and Carr is surely a goner!

a length ball, on off. Carr pushes it back to the bowl. Meanwhile, Dean is looking for a single. She ventures out of the non-striker's end. Gordon collects the ball and uses the same momentum to turn and disturb the stumps. The replays roll in and shows that Dean was back into the crease, once the stump was hit.
Run out appeal at the bowler's end and it is taken upstairs!
Kirstie Gordon is back!

That should have been a run out! No urgency showed by any fielder or the bowler! Outside off and shorter, Carr looks to pull but she gets an inside edge onto the pads. It rolls on the off side. They go for a run, Carr is late to take off. Jones lobs it towards the bowler's end but there is no oe to collect the ball. Mid on who is backing up stops it. Just the 7 needed.

Singles will do it for them! On the pads, this is worked towards square leg for one.

Make that 9! On middle, this is pushed down to long on for one.
