Rassie van der Dussen wins the Player of the Match for his match-winning unbeaten 92 runs off 41 balls.
Rassie van der Dussen took the opposition to the cleaners. By far his best innings in the tournament. However, a lot was at stake for UP Nawabs who now certainly have to win their last match and hope for a slip from the other teams. UP Nawabs were coming into this game with a lot of momentum on their side, they won three out of three before this match but when it mattered the most, they succumbed under pressure.
Rassie van der Dussen last scored a fifty in the first match of the season. He had a lean period after that and so did Chennai Brave Jaguars who were winless in all the six matches. However, they were playing for pride today. At the halfway mark, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and his team were over the moon with the score. They were confident with the total on the board but once they started the second innings, there were nervy faces in the dugout.
Chennai Brave Jaguars have spoiled UP Nawabs party. It was a must win game for UP Nawabs but Chennai Brave Jaguars came to play for pride. They had nothing to lose and their intent was seen in their batting. UP Nawabs had to win this match to keep their playoff hope alive but now are in jeopardy thanks to some unbelievable hitting from Rassie van der Dussen.
