KPL franchises issue complaint letter to PCB

Four franchises of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) have issued a complaint letter to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the event’s management. The sources have revealed that Muzaffarabad Tigers, Bagh Stallions, Rawalakot Hawks, and Mirpur Royals have submitted a joint letter to the board mentioning their objections.

The franchises have criticised the event’s poor management and inefficient handling of all the matters. According to the details, the owners have reminded PCB that they invested money in buying the teams to uplift cricket, and showcase the beauty of Kashmir but KPL has failed to manage things effectively.

“We spent our time and money buying KPL franchises. The aim of the letter was to promote cricket as well as show the beauty of Kashmir to the world. Unfortunately, KPL management did not handle all the issues properly.”

The letter also includes that Central Poor Share was not shared with the teams as KPL management has botched the financial and economical criteria during the first season.

“KPL’s first season audit report not provided. The League Council was not formed under the agreement. KPL management did not respond to complaints and also took back the cheques while continuing its royal tour during this time,”

The franchises have also asked the PCB not to issue NOC for the second season until the issues are resolved. Muzaffarabad Tigers, the runner-ups of the inaugural season of the league, have also lodged a case against KPL. Notably, the response from PCB is awaited and the action taken will be announced in a short course.

It is pertinent to mention here that KPL 2022 is expected to kick start on August 1 at Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium. The final is likely to be played on the 14th of the month.
