The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held a general council meeting at Lahore’s National High-Performance Center, including all six franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The major area of discussion was the upcoming PSL 2023, which has tentatively been scheduled to take place between February 9th and March 19th.
The board has also decided on the venues of the extravaganza, according to which the eighth edition of PSL will take place in Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Just like in previous seasons, Peshawar’s Arbab Niaz Stadium has once again been left out with the hopes of Peshawar Zalmi’s fans dying to see cricket from their home stadium.
Arbab Niaz Stadium was on the card to host quality cricket since it was exposed to the audience in the last some years. The venue is still under constriction, and despite the passing years, it has not been completed enough to host cricket matches on a significant level.
Before 2020, the PCB chief said that after the completion of work at the stadium, it would help in bringing international cricket back to Peshawar, including matches of the PSL sixth edition next year. However, with two and more years passing to this statement, Arbab Niaz stadium still awaits to host cricket in its beautiful space.
The fans have also reacted to seeing no Arbab Niaz Stadium added to PSL 2023 venues list:
Why Arbab Niaz stadium isn't included to host PSL8?

From last 3 years we are listening that this year PSL matches will be played in Peshawar too, but both PCB and provincial government are responsible for delay in reconstruction of Arbab Niaz Stadium, it's like BRT Peshawar 🤣
