The global cricket tournament known as the World Cup is set to kick off in just a few days. The mega event will start from 5th October. First match of the tournament will be played between defending champions England and runners up of 2019 ODI world cup New Zealand.

Host: India is the host of ICC ODI world cup 2023.

Teams qualified for the mega event:

A total of 10 teams will participate in this tournament. 8 teams in this world cup have got direct qualification through world cup super league. 2 teams Sri Lanka and Netherland have qualified in this global event by playing qualifier matches. The 10 teams partcipating in this tournament are: Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherland, Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa.

World cup schedule:

  • First match of world cup will be played on 5th October between England and New Zealand.
  • Semi finals will be played on 15th November and 16th November respectively.
  • Grand finale of the tournament will be played on 19th November.
  • All the matches will be played at 2 pm (IND time) and 1:30 pm PKT.
  • Ind double-header case, first match will be played at 10 am (Ind time) 9:30 am (PKT) and second match will be played at 2pm(Ind time) and 1:30 pm PKT.

The winner team of this mega event will get $4 million and runners up will attain a prize money of $2 million. Semi finalists team will be awarded a rize money of $800,000 and each group stage team will get $100000. Moreover, $40000 will be awarded to the winner of each match in group stage.
