Pollard prioritizes attending Ambani's son's wedding over PSL

Karachi Kings’ explosive batter Kieron Pollard has momentarily bid farewell to his team to attend the extravagant wedding of Mukesh Ambani’s son in India. Sources revealed that Pollard had obtained approval for a four-day leave from Karachi Kings management, allowing him to jet off to India for the grand occasion.

Expected to reach Jamnagar today, Pollard joins a constellation of international cricket stars and Indian celebrities in celebrating the nuptials of Anant Ambani.

Notably, Pollard’s association with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) adds a special significance to his presence at the high-profile event. However, his departure raises questions among Karachi Kings fans, especially with the team preparing for a crucial clash against Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) on March 3.

Pollard’s departure comes at a pivotal moment for Karachi Kings, who currently find themselves second from the bottom on the points table with only two wins out of five matches. Despite Karachi’s shaky position, Pollard has been a standout performer, showcasing stellar performances with the bat throughout the PSL.

His consistent scores of 13, 48, 58, 49, and 28* against Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, and Multan Sultans respectively have been instrumental in Karachi’s campaign.

As Pollard heads to India amidst Karachi Kings’ crucial phase in PSL, fans are left questioning whether the star batter’s commitment to the team is being overshadowed by external commitments.

Nevertheless, Karachi Kings will hope to rally without their talismanic batter as they aim to turn their fortunes around in the upcoming matches of the tournament.
